Different Types Of Cables In Networking

Well on this time we are going to see the different type of cabling in the networks. In networking cabling plays the important role for communication. It is used to connect the different devices and medium for communication.
The various types of cables are
  • Co – Axial Cable
  • Twisted Pair Cable
  •  Fiber Optic Cable
These are the different types of cable and it is used for the communication in networks. It contain the sub-types of the cables they are
Co-Axial cable is used to connect the small distance and its communication speed is low while comparing to the other cables. It contain the types of cables that is based on 10BASET,10 is the distance the network like meter.
Fiber Optic Cable is used to connect the long distance communication and it uses the rays to transmit the data through different end.It contain the drawback, when the fiber optic cable is slightly get damaged then the communication will fail.
Twisted pair Cable is one of the most widely used cable and it contain the two types they are twisted pair and shielded twisted pair cable. And then it contain the following types they are.
Shielded Twisted Pair and Unshielded Twisted Pair cables and in this two types the most widely used cable is the Unshielded Twisted pair cable. It contain the three type of cables for connecting the two different networking devices. They are
  • Straight Through Cable
  • Cross Over Cable
  • Roll Over Cable
Straight Through Cable is used to connect the different devices like Pc to Switch, PC to Hub, Router to Switch.
Cross Over Cable is used to connect the same devices like Pc to Pc, Hub to Hub, Router to Router, Router to PC.
Roll Over cable is used to connect the router console to the PC.
